How to Use This Tool
This tool converts QFX files into QIF format. It runs directly in your browser — your financial data is never uploaded anywhere.
QFX is Quicken’s Web Connect format; QIF is Quicken’s older plain-text interchange format, still required by Quicken 2013 and earlier and some legacy finance software.
- Provide your QFX file — Paste the file content or drop your .qfx file onto the File tab.
- Check the account type — Bank or Credit Card, detected from the file automatically.
- Download the QIF file — Then import it in your app (in old Quicken: File → Import → QIF File).

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your bank transactions never leave your device — no server receives, stores, or processes them.
Why would I convert QFX to QIF?
QFX is Quicken's Web Connect format, but Quicken 2013 and earlier — and some other finance apps — only accept QIF. Converting lets those older programs import a modern bank download.
What information is lost in the conversion?
QIF has no transaction ID field, so FITIDs from your QFX file are dropped. That means Quicken's duplicate detection won't recognize these transactions if you also import the same data another way. Dates, amounts, payees, memos, and check numbers all carry over.
How is the Bank vs Credit Card type chosen?
It's detected from your QFX file automatically — a credit card statement produces a !Type:CCard header, a bank statement produces !Type:Bank. You can override it before downloading.
